The Mumbai Indians have won the most Indian Premier League (IPL) championships. The five-time IPL winners are a powerful team in the IPL, but they have failed to live up to their lofty expectations in recent seasons.
MI have not reached the Finals since winning their fifth trophy in IPL 2020, and will try to change that when IPL 2023 begins on March 31. They completed the year in 10th position, with only four victories in 14 matches.
MI has already suffered a significant setback with pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of the IPL 2023, missing his first entire season in the T20 competition since 2013. But, there is some good news in the form of bowler Jofra Archer, who is recuperating from an injury that kept him out of the IPL 2022.
Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis of South Africa will also miss MI’s first game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 2 but should be available for their second game against Chennai Super Kings.

MI will be hoping that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green can replace the void left by Kieron Pollard, who retired from the IPL and is now the Mumbai Indians’ batting coach. It remains to be seen whether Arjun Tendulkar, another all-rounder, will make his IPL debut this year.
